Job Description
OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
This position provides the opportunity for current Industrial Engineering student, while under the tutelage of the Sr. Manager of Engineering to apply what they've learn to date in a real world distribution setting. This fast past environment will prepare the perspective engineer with problem solving capabilities to real world problems. Working in our corporate office with occasional travel to our distribution centers, this position will allow the engineer to see the whole operation of a distribution center. While supporting all operations within the DCs, it will be expected that the engineer take a deep dive into one of the processes and report back on potential areas of improvement and ways to reduce waste.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze processes to improve performance and reduce waste
Review and update SOPs as required
Review and update Labor Standards as required
Perform data analysis on key performance indicators
Send out reporting data as required
Generally support the Engineering department and assist where required
Qualifications
WHO YOU ARE
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to work overtime as necessary
