Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and supervise pipe laying crews, including equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors, to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  2. Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute pipe installation activities accurately and efficiently.
  3. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish project timelines, goals, and priorities.
  4. Conduct pre-construction meetings with crew members to review project requirements, safety protocols, and work procedures.
  5. Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members based on their skills and experience, ensuring that work is distributed evenly and completed on schedule.
  6. Monitor work progress, quality, and compliance with safety regulations, taking corrective action as needed to address issues and mitigate risks.
  7. Maintain accurate records of work hours, equipment usage, materials, and other project-related data to track project costs and performance.
  8. Conduct regular inspections of work sites and equipment to identify hazards, defects, or non-compliance with safety standards, and implement corrective measures.
  9. Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  10. Train and mentor crew members on proper work techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures to promote skill development and a culture of safety.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a foreman or supervisor in the construction industry, with a focus on water and sewer pipe laying preferred.
  2. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in underground utility installation.
  3. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.
  4. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  5. Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making to address challenges and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry, with a commitment to creating a safe work environment.
  7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and professionally to team members and stakeholders.
  8. Organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
  9. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in construction management or related field is a plus.
  10. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
