Cost Accountant Company: Rieke LLC Primary Location: 82oo Innovation Campus Way West, New Albany, OH 43054 USA Employment Type: Salaried | Full-Time Function: Finance Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled Main Duties & Responsibilities Position Summary: The Cost Accountant reports to the Controller and serves as a key member of the Finance Team. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for several key areas of the finance functions at New Albany, including cost accounting, preparation of management reports for internal & external submission, forecasting, budgeting, month end closing, and maintenance of internal accounting systems and processes. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: * Support all accounting and finance functions and be a key member of the site management team. * Point person in coordinating and delivering audit related requests - ensuring we are compliant and on time with all our statutory requirements. * Support in developing and reviewing cost information. * Support RFA financial preparation and review with the operations/PD team. * Month end, forecast and budget support for the team as required. * Provide support through business analysis, strategic oversight, identification of areas for improvement and management of key projects. * Support Controller in preparation of forecasts, budgets, month end, and ad hoc analysis * Develop and review metrics to determine the operational effectiveness of our manufacturing operations and business processes. * Ensure an accurate system of standard and actual costs is maintained and variance information is analysed to understand the operations. * Ensure accuracy of bill of materials * Support capital investment projects - calculate cost savings & payback. * Help lead and support continuous improvement efforts and report out monthly summary. * Support production data reporting and analyze output - scrap, downtime, throughput. * Preparation of month end operational pack and site KPI's. * Various other reporting and analysis assignments as required. * Maintenance of the General Ledger including General Ledger journal preparation and entry * Control account reconciliations and uploading to group shared platform. * Complete the timely preparation and filing of all property and state/local tax reports and payments. * Maintain accounting policies and practices which meet US and local GAAP accounting and Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements. * Support the completion of internal and external audits. * Identify and lead process improvement projects to automate and streamline current accounting and reporting procedures. * Provide timely and accurate analysis of financial information. * Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. * Special projects as assigned. Key Working Relationships: * Plant Manager/General Manager * Plant Leadership Team * Finance counterparts Qualifications * BS in Accounting or Finance * 2-4 years' experience in Accounting and Finance, with cost accounting experience * Strong financial and/or managerial accounting skills * Advanced skills with accounting and financial consolidations systems * Strong business acumen * Lean/Six Sigma problem solving experience a plus. * Project and process management. Physical Demands/Work Environment: Office based role Sitting for prolonged periods of time Some travel potentially required to other locations.
