Local Tavern seeking a dedicated Short Order Cook to join our team. As a Short Order Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should possess a willingness to learn, be dependable, reliable, and committed to showing up for scheduled shifts. We value team members who are enthusiastic about their work and demonstrate a genuine desire to contribute to our kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food preparation stations and cooking equipment.
  3. Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
  4. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our customers.
  5. Assist with inventory management and stocking of supplies as needed.
  6. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and specials.
  7. Provide excellent customer service by fulfilling orders accurately and efficiently.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience working as a cook or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  2. Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes and cooking techniques.
  3. Dependable and reliable with a strong work ethic.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  7. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
  8. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
