Description

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing various cleaning tasks to provide patients, visitors and health sciences staff with a safe and clean environment by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation and freedom from hazards and infections.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to be successful.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)

  • Adhere to department cleaning schedule.

  • Disinfect all high touch surfaces areas on an ongoing basis

  • Notify supervisor of any equipment or items that need repair or replacement so corrective action can be taken.

  • Sweep, clean, mop, scrub and dust floors.

  • Answer radio calls and respond accordingly.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision

  • Effective organizational planning abilities

  • Willingness to use initiate and handle extra duties as needed

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with others to encourage and support communication and teamwork

  • Ability to multitask and work at a rapid pace
