Amentum Electrician - Journeyman in Washington, District Of Columbia

Amentum is seeking an Electrician-Journeyman join our team in Washington, DC and support our government customer! As an Electrician-Journeyman, you will inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all electrical systems and equipment 600v or less throughout the facilities. Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Work from prints, diagrams, specification, and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs; as well as demolition, installation, testing, and inspection of work to be done on electrical systems.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of electrical equipment on AC and/or DC systems.

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, modify, install, and repair electrical equipment and circuits using prints, diagrams, and test instruments.

  • Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble, maintain and lubricate all manual or automatic AC and DC systems, electrical equipment, transformers, switchgear, control panels, regulators, and various other electrical apparatus.

  • Utilize a thorough working knowledge of national and local electrical codes.

  • Prepare and maintain records and reports on electrical systems equipment, as required for maintenance programs on the basis of all information obtained through tests.

  • Install conduit, wiring and electrical apparatus.

  • Read blueprints and generate bill of materials.

  • Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.

  • Maintain part and tool inventories.

  • Directs other repair personnel, as assigned.

  • Must have a Journeyman Electrical License

  • Four years maintenance and/or construction experience in the electrical trade required.

  • A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.

  • High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
