About the Opportunity

Jacobs Engineering is the Nuclear Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield Ltd under the Programme and Project Partners (PPP).

The programme arrangement is set to deliver £7bn worth of major projects creating a lasting legacy through the long-term partnerships.

We are currently looking for a Senior HVAC Engineer to join the Lightly Shielded Store Project (LSS1) to be based out of Birchwood

As a senior HVAC engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing and implementing engineering solutions through to design for manufacture, the full project life cycle

  • Producing and checking technical drawings, calculations and models: HVAC component models, piping isometrics, Mechanical & Electrical Plant (MEP) component models, MEP installation drawings, MEP content or family creation

  • BIM modelling for HVAC, MEP, plumbing & pipework.

  • Recording quantities take off and scheduling

  • Delivering your scope of work to time and budget

  • Design of Ventilation systems from basic principles and an understanding of containment philosophy

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Degree in Building Services Engineering or minimum HND plus 10 years’ experience in the industry

  • Thermal modelling experience would be an advantage.

  • Awareness of EG01738_1 - Ventilation of Radioactive Areas.

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role/environment, with recent relevant exposure of work in a regulated industry

  • An understanding of AutoCAD packages and its capabilities
