Electric Motor Manufacturing Technician Location: Pontiac, MI Duration: 12 months Description: The Role: We are searching for a self-motivated individual to fill the role of Prototype and Pre-Production Electric Motors Technician. In this position, you will be responsible the construction of prototype and pre-production electric motors for product and process validation and development. Additionally, you will participate in BPD and on-site training programs. If you are passionate about innovation and possess strong problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. Participate in BPD and company’s process, to meet strategic plans. Document and track all department deficiencies through various problem-solving techniques. Build prototype and preproduction electric motors in accordance with the build schedule. Analyze motor defects and perform repairs as required. Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop welding process for new motor designs. Modify and build simply fixtures and tooling. Operate machine shop equipment, and motor lab equipment (lathe, drill press, mill, robotic welder, wire forming machines) Perform motor electrical tests in accordance with authorized procedures. Maintain records on work performed, analyzes data collected and reports results Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications): 5+ hands on mechanical experience must have Associate degree or experience in mechanical or electrical activities. Prior prototype build experience Knowledge and theory of electric motors Manufacturing knowledge of electric Motors Knowledge of assembly build processes in Manufacturing. What Will Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualification) Bachelor degree in related activity or 10+ years Mechanical/Electrical experience High School diploma/ GED required. CNC is a preferred qualification. Does not make. Candidate will have a competitive advantage if they have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ Electrical.
