POSITION SUMMARY

  • Performs the administrative and managerial functions of the Clinical Laboratories serving inpatient and outpatient

  • services.

  • Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates systems and personnel responsible for all laboratory operations.

  • Ensures that all departmental procedures are performed in accordance with established policy and procedures.

  • Maintains communications between the laboratory and hospital administration, physicians and other hospital

  • departments.

  • Represents the laboratory at department meetings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Meets requirements for position as defined by CLIA 88 standards and the Georgia Laboratory Licensure law (O.C.G.A. 31-20).

  • Registered Medical Technologist, MT (ASCP)

  • Management or Business Degree is a plus.

  • 3-5 years of direct laboratory management experience in a community hospital.

  • Strong interpersonal, human resource, communication, public relations skills, and clinical skills.

  • Must possess a valid and current driver's license.
