Elite Contracting Group is seeking a Construction Crew Leader to join our Eastern Region Office in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Elite Contracting Group is one of Virginia's fastest-growing full-service security and resiliency solution integration companies.

Responsibilities:
Manage a small crew, assigning work tasks and monitoring work quality
Ensure crew safety
Train new employees
Interpret and explain plans to other workers
Confer with supervisors on matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems
Perform skilled equipment operations
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
Set detours, lane closures, and work zones adhering to highway maintenance/construction practices and procedures, including interpreting and applying work zone safety and traffic controls
Perform manual labor and utilize hand and power tools such as trimmers, pole saws, jackhammer, concrete saw, drills, shovels, etc.
Operate light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and equipment
Perform work in various conditions and environments, including exposure to the outdoors and insects
Qualifications:
Experience working in construction
Experience operating hand and power tools and equipment such as shovels, drills, and measuring tapes
Skilled in operating and maintaining light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and equipment
Strong communication skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to interpret plans and drawings
Prefer experience working on roadways, including Management of Traffic (MOT) training and certification and/or experience performing lane closures
Valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check
Must be motivated, willing to work as a team, and willing to learn
Must be able to push and carry 50-70 pounds
Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions
Ability to pass a criminal background check
