Lineage Logistics Basic Maintenance Technician in Vernon, California

Shift: Monday - Friday; 7am - 3:30pm

Pay Rate: $24.32hr.

Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. As an entry level position, training will be provided to acquire the skills necessary to grow within the maintenance team.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs on all mechanical assets impacting the operation of the facility, physical structure, and exterior grounds under the instruction and close supervision of leadership

• Maintains and inspects equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions by determining cause and executes necessary adjustments.

• Perform general plumbing including repairing leaking faucets, replacing faucets, toilets/urinals, and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment; cleaning clogged drains, hot water heater repair/replacement, drain cleaning and snaking. PVC pipe repairs/replacement.

• General facilities tasks; repairing doors, walls, floors, windows, furniture, water dispensers, water heaters, refrigerators. Replacing light bulbs/fixtures, painting, cleaning, wall molding, caulking, dry wall.

• Electrical; GFIs, fixtures, receptacles as necessary etc.

• Painting: Latex/oil-based paints, brush and roller applications, drywall repair.

• Maintains condition and appearance of campus.

• Uses and maintains power tools and other equipment.

• Weather preparation and clean up including removing bulk trash.

• Check for light outages or other malfunctioning fixtures in the building.

• Maintain site for hazardous disposables: bulbs, paint, solvents and take to the proper site for disposable.

• Clean and inspect common area mechanical and storage rooms as needed.

• Identifies and creates materials list and general planning required to complete job assignments.

• Interact and communicate with production on status and completion of jobs.

• Responsible for the timely completion of all assigned facility work order requests and the completion and accuracy of documentation related to assigned tasks.

• Organize, maintain, and utilize provided supplies in a cost-effective manner.

• Maintain a clean and a safe workspace.

• Other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

• Completion of trade school courses or minimal experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: building maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance or refrigeration maintenance (ammonia, Freon and/or CO2)

• Capable of completing routine preventative maintenance with instructions and supervision

• Fully proficient with, and capable of operating power and hand tools

• Basic computer skills

• Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the facility

• Possess problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with demonstrated organizational skills.

• Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit/-25 Celsius in cold storage sites or up to 100 Fahrenheit/37 Celsius in dry storage sites while wearing company provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs./23 kgs.; weight may be more dependent upon facility

• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed

• Some locations require being comfortable with various noise levels, at times, can be loud

• Some locations require demonstrated knowledge and practice of Working at Height
