Come join our Boise Cascade Building Materials Distribution Team as a Material Handler. Please review the responsibilities and needed qualifications below and apply today! Please Note: This is a swing shift position, with a start time of between 2:00-4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime during peak seasons is required. Starting wage is $24.54 per hour (including shift differential). This is a union position with a great benefits package.

Responsibilities: Material Handlers perform distribution related functions (receiving, storing, pulling orders, and loading outbound trucks) as well as operate a forklift and in some cases a chainsaw. They will ensure the load matches the order prior to vehicle exiting yard and perform customer service activities. Incumbents will have broad in-depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations. Material Handlers possess mental alertness and adaptation to warehouse routines, understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and maintain good housekeeping in work area. Safety is our #1 priority; you must be able to follow safety programs and ensure compliance of OSHA regulation. Material Handlers demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Working Conditions are outside in all weather conditions as well as in a warehouse operations environment with considerable physical exertion. Ability to understand and measure lengths of material required. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of building material products a plus. General warehouse experience, including 1-2 years industrial forklift operation, experience operating a chainsaw and/or knowledge of warehouse/lumber yard work environment preferred.
