Description

M-F 8:45-5:45 - 40 hours/week Summary: The Card Services department is responsible for the administration of Travis Credit Union's (TCU) debit, credit and ATM card services. TCU's Card Services Specialists are actively engaged with both TCU members and TCU back office departments in the delivery of member support to card service users byresponding to member inquiries related to credit, debit, and ATM card account activity. Profile:

  • Delivers best-in-class member and employee service through prompt response to complex inquiries
  • Proactively seeks solutions to common member needs surrounding debit, credit, and ATM card billing errors, card orders, declined transactions, disputed charges, card fraud and limit increases within regulatory and procedural timeframes through use of card program knowledge.
  • Complies with all applicable regulations such as The Card Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Reg. Z, and Reg. E related concepts, procedures, regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Produces, understands, and manipulates large amounts of data to isolate fraud trends.
  • Verifies and corrects card records across multiple systems as needed throughout each day.
  • Processes daily settlements and has full working knowledge of the chargeback process, including origination, re-presentment, and pre-arbitration.
  • Monitors reports and correspondence via member contact for discrepancies.
  • Monitors all inserts and plastics inventory.
  • Actively engages with accounts and General Ledger balance processes.

Skills:

  • Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to problem solve with tact and diplomacy.
  • Knowledge of Visa regulations, dispute/chargeback procedures, and the technical aspects of card processing.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Proven experience of working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong data entry and analytic skills.

Reporting and Experience:

  • Reports directly to Supervisor/Manager, Card Services.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Levels:

Card Services Specialist: Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, and/or minimum 2 years inbound call center experience, and/or minimum 2 years in cardholder data environment.

Sr. Card Services Specialist: Minimum 3 years of customer service experience, and/or minimum 3 years inbound call center experience, and/or minimum 3 years in cardholder data environment.

Working Conditions:Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available and usually sedentary in nature.

Understands the requirements of the BankSecrecy Act and ensures compliance through monitoring and reporting of member activity as appropriate.

Starting salary is commensurate with experience. In addition to our competitive benefits, this opportunity with Travis Credit Union has a range of:

  • Card Services Specialist
    • Grade 9: $22.25/hour - $27.49/hour
  • Sr. Card Services Specialist -Grade 10: $24.22/hour - $29.91/hour
