Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR Generalist.

The Tulsa Bus Plant is a leading facility in school bus production, employing approximately 1350 dedicated individuals. We pride ourselves on maintaining positive labor relations with the local UAW while striving for excellence in our operations.

As a Senior HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing HR operations, mentoring HR coordinators, and leveraging your extensive labor experience to contribute to our team. Your responsibilities will encompass various facets of HR management crucial to the success of our business and maintaining harmonious labor relations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and guidance to ensure efficient HR operations, including mentoring HR coordinators.

  • Utilize your manufacturing HR experience and labor expertise to address a wide range of HR issues and challenges.

  • Act as a well-rounded HR generalist, engaging in labor relations and daily interactions with union leadership, union members, and non-union employee relations.

  • Lead investigations into issues that cannot be resolved at the floor level, implementing appropriate solutions.

  • Train, guide, and counsel leaders on the floor, including team leaders and area managers, to navigate through HR issues and facilitate their professional development.

  • Collaborate with business team leaders to identify strengths and weaknesses, guiding them in enhancing their leadership capabilities.

  • Contribute to manpower planning, training and development, discipline, engagement initiatives, and reporting, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across the organization.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 8 years of human resources or labor experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 6 years of human resources or labor experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

    OR

  • At least 10 years of human resources or labor experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

  • HR experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • Labor experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven track record as an HR generalist, with a comprehensive understanding of HR functions beyond recruitment, compensation, and benefits.

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to effectively engage with diverse teams and maintain confidentiality.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems.
