Amergis Peds PT 2.5k a week 27 hours in Tulare, California

We're looking for a passionate Physical Therapist to help our client in Visalia, CA provide critical services to their patients from the age of 3-21.

In this role you would be tasked with providing therapy services to disabled children in a school-based setting and assisting parents in understanding and handling children with chronic orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions.

Because you would be providing services to children who have handicapping conditions, generally due to neurological and musculoskeletal disorders, this role requires a special type of person. But it also requires creativity and passion to provide your patients with a sense of hope and normalcy in their difficult conditions.

DUTIES:

  • You will work closely with the physician or senior therapist to determine types of treatment required in each case; adapts games, arts, and crafts as therapeutic treatment

  • The chosen candidate will teach parents/caregivers and/or child exercises, activities, and techniques that will improve strength, range of motion, balance, equilibrium, stability, and functional mobility skills

  • Establishes treatment plans with functional goals and measurable objectives based upon evaluations and clinical observations incorporating concepts of family-centered care into the plan. Provides therapy treatment as prescribed by child’s physician.

  • Confers and consults with other providers involved with child’s care, including but not limited to school personnel, equipment and orthotic providers, and social service workers.

  • Identifies needs and makes recommendations re: appropriate rehabilitation equipment and orthotics and ensures proper function and fit

  • The successful candidate will maintain relevant and timely documentation of treatments and services provided in accordance with the CCS Medical Therapy Program guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • 1 year minimum experience, ideally working with patients with chronic orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions

  • License to practice as a PT in CA.

  • Experience working with children preferred

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Location - Visalia, CA

  • Length - 26 weeks with possible extension

  • Schedule - Mon-Thurs, 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week.

  • Pay - $39 hourly + $936 housing stipend + $483 meals stipend = $2,518 weekly!
