The Manager of Procurement Special Projects is a key member of Procurement Insights and Analytics team, leading high-profile data driven projects with cross enterprise project teams to enable GPS to meet strategic objectives.

This position requires excellent organizational skill, deep knowledge of Procurement’s value proposition and BNS’s core business such as Virtual Cards as well as extensive experience in project execution.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead projects that contribute to Global Procurement Services’ strategic priorities; This includes, but not limit to, supplier/client strategy and supplier optimization. The individual is responsible for end to end project implementation and BAU (Business as Usual) activities, such as collaborating with product managers on program campaigns, supporting Global Payment Operations on optimizing supplier onboarding process, developing SharePoint content for internal and external audience, creating PowerPoint and presenting project progress to senior leaders. The successful candidate must have advanced PowerPoint skills and be an effective communicator

  • Leverage her/his knowledge of procurement practice to identify opportunities for Supplier/Client Program; translate opportunities into leads, develop project strategies and business cases to obtain buy-in of GPS leadership; the activities involve analyzing project data, supplier data and program campaign data, pitching opportunities to sourcing leads, organizing forum and meetings to educate suppliers and internal supplier relationship managers on program benefits. The successful candidate must be sophisticated with Excel and comfortable with data driven story telling

  • Define project objectives and scope, engage stakeholders from both within and outside GPS, develop detailed project plans, monitor and track progress, manage changes to the project scope and schedule, and attend leadership team meetings to provide project update; The individual is also responsible for developing and maintaining all project documentations such as designs, plans, schedule, proposals, requirements, presentations, monthly reports and RACI etc. the individual needs to be highly organized, detail oriented and has a strong sense of accountability

  • Be the liaison between GPS, Business Product Manager and Accounts Payable Operations to drive visibility of Program achievements; equipped with knowledge of business programs, supplier onboarding process and procurement practice, the individual is expected to identify technology enhancement opportunities to automate process and to establish controls as well as to collaborate with Technology teams on implementing the enhancements

  • Play a role of conduit between Procurement data team and GPS Senior Leadership. The individual will produce PowerPoint documents regularly for senior leader meetings, which goes beyond Procurement Special Project. In addition to leveraging PPT and SharePoint key features and manipulating objects, the individual shall be capable of creating content that is compelling and aesthetically pleasing

  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates team members by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

  • Good understanding the objectives of procurement practices, such as business and strategic goal

  • Advanced PPT skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with leadership team

  • Strong project management skills

  • Advanced technical skills in various data analytics tools, such as Excel, PowerBI

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of core banking products

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, finance, or related field; master (MA or MSc) in business or related field preferred
