Description

Japan Amazon Logistics organization is looking for a customer obsessed, analytically and technically skilled On the Road (OTR) capacity planning Senior Manager to join our team.

The ideal candidate is experienced in large scale supply chain and operations roles and is constantly imagining what could be done differently through step-change innovation. They must also be comfortable working cross-functionally through planning iterations and partnerships across a complex organization at breakneck speed.

The candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent statistical and analytical abilities, outstanding business acumen and judgment, intense curiosity and wants to solve real business problems at large scale.

Responsibilities include direct management of a team, driving improvements in process and quality of service, OTR strategic planning, and management of project and resources. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery.

As Manager of OTR capacity planning, you will work closely with multiple stakeholders across Amazon, from Operational teams to Delivery Service Provider Account management teams and everything in between. You’ll help us optimize our demand and supply planning to make our customer experience even better and our business more energy and cost efficient.

Excellent written and verbal communication is required with the ability to present complex ideas simply and persuasively.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead a team of over 6+ members and implement strategies for their growth and enhancement to maximize their achievements.

  • Stay ahead of business developments in the JP delivery space, and use this deep expertise as an input to help craft the mid and short-term OTR capacity planning.

  • Partner with other regions to help evolve the JP OTR planning programs and adapt it to the nuances of the region.

  • Earn trust across multiple internal Amazon teams (finance, AmFlex, DSP account management, operations and tech) to achieve your goals.

  • Identify and implement capacity planning and management tools that will improve operational accuracy and efficiency.

  • Lead projects to define and align with leadership to deliver on capacity plan.

  • Communicate these plans and report on their execution to key stakeholders while continuously improving the planning and execution cycles.

  • Monitor performance and ensuring capacity to match volumes.

  • Identify and mitigate capacity risks by making recommendations on managing dependencies across multiple operating units and sites.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of team management experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level

  • Experience in supply chain management including planning, forecasting and optimization

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Business level of English

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture
