Eaton Corporation Sr Buyer in Tijuana, Mexico

Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Sr Buyer.

What you’ll do:

Procurement of various goods and services in order to meet plant goals of OTD, DOH, Productivity and Schedule attaintment

Job Responsibilities and authority:

  1. Maintain communication and updates with internal customers regarding material availability and risks

  2. Follow up with Sourcing team in cost out projects

  3. Communicate and coordinate with product line supervisors/leaders and purchasing teams to ensure schedule attainment and recovery if required

  4. Root cause analysis of materials delays and implement improvement actions for Suppliers OTD

  5. Planning and ordering the necessary materials following ERP system

  6. Maintain inventory levels of materials in accordance with the objectives set monthly.

  7. Expedite overdue materials to prevent the lack of raw material

  8. Escalations using plant tools such us GPS (shortages) and SPIR (price changes)

  9. Have direct communication with suppliers regarding material usage as per forecast

  10. Follow up on MRB and create corrective action plans

  11. Troubleshooting problem bills to pay our suppliers, avoiding the suspension of our credit

  12. Inventory analysis to provide inventory reductions actions

  13. Provide the necessary support to production to achieve finished product goals

  14. Procure materials following plant and coorporate regulations (QA, SCM)

Qualifications:

Education level required:

  • Bachelor Degree.

  • APICS preferred

Years and area of experience required:

  • 3-5 years in similar position with electronic components and or automotive industries

Skills:

Competencies required:

  • Problem Solving Tools (A3, PDCA, 5WHY's, etc.)

  • ERP/MRP System (SAP)

  • Bilingual

Soft skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Understanding of key financial metrics.

  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills working with other functions.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Leadership
