The Continuous Improvement Senior Manager drives implementation of the Altium Production System (APS) across several pillar / elements of Operational Excellence: Safety, Quality, Daily Team Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Continuous Skills Development. The Continuous Improvement Senior Manager assumes responsibility for the implementation of APS to his/her assigned plants, providing leadership, and coaching that result in excellence in productivity while maintaining the well-being of all plant employees.

The Continuous Improvement Senior Manager will utilize his/her strong interpersonal skills and track record of leading / implementing change to:

  • Demonstrate leadership, high personal standards, ability to develop intellectual capital and professional ethics

  • Engage with Sr. Operations Director and VP, Manufacturing on regional loss elimination activities and planning

  • Support Operations Leadership in regional loss planning process

  • Educate, communicate, and work with all levels of manufacturing employees including senior leadership, plant leaders, and shop-floor employees

  • Plan, lead, and facilitate meetings / working sessions

  • Direct and lead multiple initiatives at once

  • Build and implement detailed project plans

  • Utilize computer skills necessary to build presentations and spreadsheets

  • Train Plant CI Practitioners, Operators and Plant Leadership in Altium Production Systems

  • Create and drive local loss planning

  • Lead Cross functional improvement teams

  • Lead local improvement work

  • Create APS Element content in conjunction with Element Owner.

Required Education and Experience

  • 10 – 15 years working knowledge and practical experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) including team development and coaching is required

  • 10 – 15 years Practical application of TPM and Continuous Improvement principles

  • Manufacturing operations experience strongly preferred especially in rigid plastics and continuous flow manufacturing

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively assess situations and make appropriate decisions in a timely manner

  • Must be a team player and strong leader with the ability to influence organizational change

  • Must have the ability and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment, be a self-starter and successful in working without close supervision while implementing APS standards

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical mindset and ability to understand and organize data

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Remote based role that requires a high level of travel

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (any field directly related to the design and/or manufacturing of the primary products), or in a significantly related field such as business, planning or supply chain

  • Continued career interest in manufacturing, continuous improvement, plant operations / management, and senior management roles.
