Job Overview:

The Project Control specialist will have the role as Project Control Manager on a project. Need to have proven experience in or have been exposed to planning as well as control. Preference is experience working with EPC contractor side of the Energy Business, overall working experience is 12-16 years and between 2-5 in a lead project control role.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Planning & Scheduling and Cost Control leads and if needed Project Accounting on a project

  • Manages, supervises and is responsible for all Project Controls activities on Small to Medium FEED and/or EPC projects and support project management in Risk and Change Management

  • Can supervise one or more projects independently with respect to Project Controls

  • Responsible for independently applying Project Controls techniques and analysis to a project

  • Apply sound knowledge of Project Controls principles

  • Actively manages his team(s) to contribute to a safe working environment. Can replace the Department Manager Project Controls if needed

  • Coordinates development program control budget in conjunction with program directorate and project management teams at project locations

  • Monitors and maintains program control budget and estimate at completion with updates received from project change coordinator, contract administration and project management teams at project locations

  • Coordinates cost control input from project controls teams at project locations or home office to develop program cost reports in compliance with contract and corporate requirements

  • Provides cost control function for program directorate cost account

  • Provides input and supports required for preparation of client invoice

  • Provides recommendations for corrective action to program directorate

  • Ability to interact on high level with management as well as technically with engineers

  • Lead the development of project schedule working with the project team

  • Development of all levels of the project schedule

  • Facilitate monthly updates and critical path schedule analysis

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Advanced Technical Education (B.Sc./M.Sc. or equivalent)

  • 10 - 15 Years’ experience in Cost Management in Oil & Gas or in related / comparable industries

  • Good Communication skills, team player

  • Proficient in Primavera P6

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint & workable to deal with resistance

  • Meet deadlines and can handle changing needs and requirements

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Planning/Scheduling procedures and best practices.

  • Actively develop more FEED and EPC knowledge.

  • Experience in working with and in financial data bases like SAP or JDE
