Boeing Brazil is seeking Propulsion Systems Engineering Manager , reporting to the Propulsion Systems Senior Management , working out of the São José dos Campos - SP office.

The Propulsion Systems Engineering Manager will join the Propulsion Systems team and will be responsible to lead and inspire a group of employees performing engineering, technical, and regulatory tasks in the areas of BCA Propulsion Systems.

The position includes responsibility for developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures, setting operational goals for the team, and acquiring financial and technical resources.

This role includes a significant level of mentoring, developing, and motivating direct reports.

As an Engineering Manager you will provide variety of technical solutions in support of existing and future commercial airplane products. The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, possess outstanding communication skills, and demonstrate ability to build collaborative relationships.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manages employees performing engineering and technical tasks in the areas of the BCA Propulsion Systems Design Center or Platform/Program teams

• Supports a variety of Boeing product, including the 737, 747, 767, 777, and 787 products

• Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals

• Coordinates engagement with BCA engineering counterparts located in the USA: (Charleston, Puget Sound, and Long Beach) and India

• Acquires resources for projects and processes, including budget and staffing

• Provides technical and project oversight of suppliers

• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports

• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes

• Provides oversight and approval of approaches to compliance with regulatory requirements and certification processes

• Leads and fosters process improvements

• Develops and maintains a culture of seeking to understand, courage to speak up, active listening and servant leadership to manage, develop, and motivate employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. This means that the selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate from an accredited course of study in engineering

• Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA). Applicable to Brazilian engineers, recent engineering graduates within 6 months and foreign engineers when the employer is willing visa sponsor

• Fluent in both written and verbal English

• Experience leading a team, formally or informally

• Deep engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

• Experience in management or leadership role

• In depth experience in the aerospace industry

• Experience or familiarization with the certification of 14 CFR part 25 commercial aerospace products

• Master’s degree in an engineering related field or Business Administration (MBA)

• Experience with or a desire to learn Agile project management methods

• Experience in requirements management

• Experience with system safety assessment/functional hazard assessment methodology

• Experience working within a regulated industry
