SUNY Upstate Medical University Postdoctoral Associate in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Associate, with experience in both in vivo and in vitro, will use methods such as 2-photon live brain imaging in mice, ICV injection, animal behavioral test, primary cell cultures of neurons, bone marrow stem cells or glial cells, gene modification and regulation, flow cytometry, Western blot, qRT-PCR, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and confocal imaging to perform research experiments in the research lab of Neurosurgery Department. Individuals who have experience in Alzheimer’s research, bone marrow stem cell/hematopoietic stem cell biology and pathology, vascular biology, molecular biology, flow cytometry, and live brain imaging are preferred. PhD degree in Neuroscience is required. Job responsibilities include making a skull window for 2-photon live brain imaging in mice, performing 2-photon live brain imaging and neurobehavioral testing, performing bone marrow isolation and bone marrow transplantation, blood collection, flow cytometry, confocal imaging, brain sectioning, and immunohistochemistry, injecting cells or drugs subcutaneously, intravenously or intracerebrally, tissue gene expression and protein quantification, cell adhesion and cell-cell interaction, performing data analysis, presenting research data at conferences, and preparing research manuscripts for publication.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD degree in stem cell biology/Neuroscience/ Neurobiology with related publications is required for this position.
