Meta Connectivity RF Hardware Design Engineer in Sunnyvale, California

Summary:

As a Connectivity RF Hardware Design Engineer at Meta Reality Labs, you will develop new wireless connectivity RF systems (WiFi/BT/NFC/GNSS/UWB) for Augmented Reality (AR) products. You will work closely with product design, electrical and firmware engineers on advancing the state of AR through research and development, prototyping, and implementation in shipping products. You will own end-to-end connectivity RF hardware design from initial definition through production. You should have deep connectivity RF development experience in consumer electronics development and wireless technology along with a passion for exploration and experimentation.

Required Skills:

Connectivity RF Hardware Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Own end-to-end connectivity RF hardware design and implementation throughout a product design cycle.

  2. Responsible for part selection, prototyping, factory bring up and lab bench debug and root cause.

  3. Develop connectivity RF architecture, schematic, layout and work with vendors for DFM and manufacturing.

  4. Perform RF schematics and layout optimization to make small form factor devices.

  5. Perform RF link budget analysis and RF issue debugging in the lab.

  6. Perform simulation (RF circuit simulation and 3D EM Simulation), performance tuning/optimization and validation RF conducted performance.

  7. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure RF performance are met at component, board and system level.

  8. Work with antenna and test engineers to ensure the quality of the overall system.

  9. Support EMI/EMC troubleshooting and validation.

  10. Domestic/international travel to achieve program milestones.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience in RF hardware design for consumer electronics.

  2. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

  3. Experience with WiFi, BT, UWB, NFC and GNSS RF design and implementation.

  4. Experience with RF front-end and SoC Schematic, Layout Capture and Board Bring Up.

  5. Work experience with RF lab equipment for device characterization, debug and component/system performance validation.

  6. Experience with RF circuit and EM simulation software.

  7. Knowledge of RF/wireless system architecture on WiFi/BT/NFC/GNSS technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MS or PhD in RF/Electromagnetics.

  2. Experience in Schematic Capture and PCB Layout using Cadence Tool.

  3. Familiar with regulatory requirements (FCC, CE, etc.).

Public Compensation:

$129,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
