How you’ll make an impact:

The Utility Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the Distribution Center, changing forklift batteries, and running supplies to the operations floor as needed.

This role typical reports into the Sr. Mgr. Safety and Maintenance and is based in our Stockbridge Distribution Center.

75%: Daily Operations

  • Scrubbing facility floors by use of propane-powered equipment

  • Moving plastic bales from balers into trailers by use of lift equipment

  • Running supplies to Operations floor including keeping pick mods stocked with corrugate.

  • Changing cardboard compactor containers

  • Assist operations in changing forklift batteries.

  • Responsible for observing housekeeping, safety and C-TPAT compliance in assigned area of responsibility; Stay within compliance of the company policies regarding safety.

25%: Support Functions

  • Maintenance of facility property, not limited to building grounds, HVAC, generators, sprinkler systems, security systems, etc.

  • Support the Coordinator/Supervisor in all duties as assigned including all operational areas of the Distribution Center

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Must have:

  • You will operate equipment, like a scrubber and forklifts, for most of your shift, so you must be able to pass the driver and safety certification.

  • Experience using routine industrial hand tools.

  • Team player willing to perform various job duties to support the department and the facility objectives and key performance indicators.

  • A customer-service orientation willing to exceed the expectations our customers.

  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds, scan with RF equipment, bend, twist, and be on your feet for shifts up to 12 hours long.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others (Supervisors, Managers, and peers).

  • Flexibility to work overtime and comply with blackout periods (no vacation or personal time allowed) during peak periods.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Previous custodial experience preferred.

  • A self-starter with a desire to exceed expectations.
