General Dynamics Land Systems Stryker Production Aftermarket Chief Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan

This role is for the Co-Chief Engineer (CE) for the Stryker Production and Aftermarket product line. The Chief Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership to the team providing engineering support to sustain the Stryker product line throughout the postproduction launch life cycle. In this role, the CE will be accountable to program, engineering leadership and the customer for timely and robust technical solutions to production and field problem reports in accordance with contract requirements.

Provide technical leadership to the Engineering System Management team that is responsible for Stryker Production & Aftermarket Sustainment. Responsibility for maintaining the overall product technical design integrity, design compliance with all requirements, and that the product will function as an integrated system within its intended environment Coordinate and work through technical issues with the PM Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) customer and GDLS team, which includes leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities as required. Responsibility for technical completeness and review of all Factory, Material and Field Problem Reports prior to closure and providing timely support to the cross functional organizations to ensure issues are resolved in alignment with program objects and contractual requirements. Responsibility for ensuring that all technical products are developed and delivered to a high-quality standard while successfully achieving cost and schedule objectives. Responsible for leading the review and coordinating responses to customer questions associated with Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) going through the change process and managing the response to any ECP rejections. Technical lead for the Obsolescence Management (OM) delivery order and partnering with the OM Project Engineers to provide robust technical solutions and validation plans that align with production and spares sustainment program needs. Lead for continuous improve initiatives and communication with the Design & Development Engineering functional team to reduce change volume and address customer pain points. Providing overall support to the cross functional Stryker production and aftermarket team as required.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering preferred. Other technical degrees will be considered with relevant experience. Advanced/additional degree in Business Administration a plus. 10+years relevant experience in the engineering/defense industries preferred; advanced education may be considered in lieu ofyears of experience.
