DCS Corporation Sr Embedded Software Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan

Software Engineer - Vehicle Software Project Management System Software Engineer with ground combat vehicles, supporting Project Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO-GCS), will interface with US Army Combat Capability Development Center - Ground Vehicle System Center (CCDC-GVSC,  the Department of the Army (DA), other government agencies and the Prime Contractors along with the sub-contractors in order to provide technical support and direction. The engineer will provide problem solving skills related to development, production, field problems and sustainment. The candidate will be responsible for seamless integration of vehicle software on a ground combat vehicle. The individual will assess risk and propose mitigation steps to the PMO and Engineering leadership. The individual should be able to develop briefs and white papers summarizing the risks for the systems and subsystems they are assigned. The candidate will evaluate the progress of contractors against the tailored entry/exit criteria for design reviews. The candidate should be able to prepare information papers for the projects assigned in order to keep the PMO and engineering leadership updated on the status on critical projects, respond to questions, and prepare them for meetings with the TRADOC, DA and Industry. Essential Job Functions: Lead a combined project team of government and contract employees located in many different locations while meeting directed delivery dates to meet fielding requirements. Provide electrical and software regarding sensors support to Combat Vehicle systems planning, design, development, and execution. Conduct requirement development and decomposition from higher level specifications and voice of the customer. Work in a team environment with our Army customer and DCS Engineers. Coordinate with government personnel to plan, coordinate and execute system bench activities. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve problems encountered with vehicle level issues in that could include electrical or mechanical systems. Conduct system engineering tasks to include risk management, data management, and trade study analysis. Conduct Project Management tasks including WBS Development, IMP, IMS and cost analysis. Develop Subject Matter Expertise on a variety of combat vehicle subsystems. Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Software) or Computer Science with 12 years of experience. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Experience in vehicle software integration onto a vehicle. Familiar with Systems Engineering and DoD Acquisition processes. Familiar with systems/subsystems for Ground Combat Vehicles. Ability to travel to various customer and contractor facilities and test centers (10% Travel). Desired Skills: Experience with US Army Ground Combat Vehicle System Electronics Hardware and Software. Experience in vehicle software at a platform level.
