Actalent Lead Electrical Sensor Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan

Currently seeking an Lead Electrical Engineer that has an expertise in sensor development. Candidates must have experience developing, calibrating and testing sensors on vehicle systems. Ideal candidate will have experience with military APS's.

Description:

  • Responsible for the engineering management of vectronic and sensor hardware integration projects for schedule and performance metrics, and coordination with project management to achieve program goals

  • Identify state-of-the-art commercial and Government sensor and hardware technologies, and novel sensor and hardware engineering methodologies and apply them to the program

  • Conduct, monitor, direct and coordinate research, design, development and engineering activities on assigned technology areas at the component-, subsystem-, and system-level

  • Review and advise on preliminary design studies for new or improved items, components, subsystems, and systems, as well as engineering changes which may affect military characteristics

  • Prepare and review test plans, observe tests, and analyze test results to determine adequacy of performance, and provide recommendations to address deficiencies

  • Analysis of component-, subsystem-, and system-level hardware solutions and gauging effectiveness at addressing emerging capabilities

  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends to support the development of Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (COAs), and Trade Studies

  • Develop scope of effort estimates (Rough Order of Magnitude and Quotes) and engineering estimates for manpower, materiel, schedule requirements, and potential risks, etc

  • Participate with technical teams in identifying developing software for the program. Participate in working group meetings and IPT meetings, to provide technical expertise and recommend solutions to address any issues that come up

  • Assist in writing and preparing the Scopes of Work (SOW) and technical requirements for program solicitation

  • Have strong knowledge of project management, understanding of overall program schedules, and systems engineering. This helps with understanding timelines and the overall project.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to the development of contract statements of work (SOWs), Work Directives (WD), Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs) for the creation of electrical schematics, “one-wire” interconnect diagrams (power, signal, and data), system integration drawings, system requirements, Bills of Material, and the necessary notes and information to support Developmental & Product Technical Data Packages (per MIL-STD-31000)
