Objective

The Continuous Improvement Engineer supports the divisions' leadership in the achievement of financial and operational objectives, including MFS and Magna objectives.  Leads a cross-functional team to implement Continuous Improvement activities in the division, based on our Magna Factory Concept (MAFACT), conducts internal MAFACT Assessments and creates an improvement plan and Lead LEAN Capex Review for new projects and prepare it for approval by the Group lead.  

Key Responsibilities

Lead LEAN Capex Review for new projects and prepare it for approval by GM and the Group Lead. 

MAFACT Assessor, create improvement plan including monthly implementation tracking for all MAFACT sections; present MAFACT status at monthly General Meeting: Score, Status CI Projects, Employee Suggestions.

Participation at least at one cross-group assessment per year. 

Coordination of MAFACT implementation/ sustainment.

Lead & Tracking of Significant Continuous Improvement (CI) Projects; Problem Solving Training including A3, PDCA, Identify/ support Top 3 Improvement Projects per Department of the division and 5Why Problem Solving Training division's employees in Problem Solving methodologies. 

Shop floor & Kaizen; Advanced process knowledge of core processes of the division; weekly Gemba Walk by following the complete material flow; conduct minimum one KAIZEN workshop per month. Small but continuous improvement steps -- everybody, everywhere and every day.

Problem solving "at the source", Managing by Facts and Figures, encourage measurable improvements 

MAFACT Tools / Lean Implementation; Identify 7 types of waste in various processes within the plant (both manufacturing shop floor and offices).

 Create/ revisit Standardized Work documents for a high runner; identify and track significant improvement of performance related KPI via SW.  SW rollout in the division. 

Initiate/ revisit TPM for a high runner, identify and track significant improvement via TPM. Rollout TPM. 

Promote and introduce 5S as a culture -- set the basics for Std. Work, TPM, Material Management and LPA - Introduce/ support sense of responsibility to maintain systems in the division. 

Create VSM for the most important value stream in the division, create a VSM roadmap to cover all high-runners and consequently work on VSM Current-Future-PDCA; Introduce/ Support PULL principle in the division, identify and track significant improvements via VSM.

Initiate "Train the Trainer" programs:  provide training and coaching in the division for MAFACT & Lean principles.

MAFACT Simulation Training: train all team-leaders at the division; create and follow training plan to train all shop floor personnel and process engineers

Visualization & Transparency:  Implement/ control MAFACT boards according to MAFACT Guideline. Setup MAFACT Improvement Board according to the MAFACT Ass
