Skylla's Systems Engineer will work within Skylla's support team and Government engineering team by performing technical planning and analysis of system requirements and documentation to ensure solutions provide the required capabilities while managing program cost and risk:

  • Support the development, revision, and update of systems engineering documents.

  • Support the development of test plans, test events, and test reports.

  • Coordinate and support Engineering Integrated Product Teams and develop meeting minutes as required.

  • Support coordination and development of Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA).

  • Assist with analyses in concept, design, fabrication, test, operation, maintenance and disposal of Marine Corps systems.

  • Plan and perform technical duties on new and varied system design and development problems where only general objectives are stated.

  • Assist with transforming customer requirements into executable and operational product.

  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and documenting technical risks.

  • Assist in providing engineering input to the Program Integrated Master Schedules.

  • Provide engineering input to program briefs.

  • Support the development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)

  • Support the development, revision, and update of systems engineering documents.

Required Skills

The Systems Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Support technical interface and coordination with stakeholders on all processes involved in Systems Engineering. System engineering tasks include: requirements definition, functional analysis, trade studies, design synthesis, configuration management, verification and validation, and cost, risk, and logistics analyses, Technical Performance Management, and Performance Verification (V&V).

  • Provides input to technical oversight of research, development, design, and integration efforts.

  • Support the development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) through demonstrated understanding of MCSC Change Initiation Processes.

  • Support the development, revision, and update of systems engineering documents such as Information Support Plan, Systems Engineering Plan, Test and Evaluation Plan, and Systems Performance Specifications.

  • Coordinate and support Engineering Integrated Product Teams and develop meeting minutes as required.

  • Support coordination and development, and execution of Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR).

  • Assist with conducting Functional and Configuration Audits. Develop closeout memoranda.

  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and documenting technical risks.

  • Assist in providing engineering input to the Program Integrated Government Schedules.

  • Provide engineering input to program briefs.

  • Broad understanding of system engineering management processes and experience in system engineering practice.

  • Ability to work in a face paced environment.

  • Excellent customer facing and internal communications skills

  • Effective writing skills

  • Excellent MS Office skills to include, but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Experience working in a Marine Corps Systems Command Program Office or similar organization

  • Excellent technical communications skills, and understanding of the Marine Corps mission.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math discipline. 6 years in lieu of a degree.

  • 7-10 years of systems engineering and technical support experiences

Desired:

  • Experience with DoD systems engineering including, but not limited to, interpretation of systems requirements, design development, test and evaluation, validation and verification.

  • Development and preparation of systems engineering documents.

  • Prior Marine Corps experience is a plus.
