Job Description Summary

Working for the Logistics Supervisor the role function is primarily the day-to-day completion of the SAP functions within the logistics department. You will also support the logistics team to receive, store, maintain and issue materials for Transformer manufacturing at TST, in an efficient and safe manner.

Job Description

Primary Scope:

  • Daily completion of SAP operations within the logistics department

Additional Scope:

  • Loading and unloading goods from vehicles

  • Moving materials packed on pallets or in crates around the Lichfield Road site

  • Storing materials in the correct storage zones, following stock control instructions

  • Comply with GE LSP.

  • Performing daily equipment checks, for example recharging the truck's battery etc.

  • Helping to load and unload trucks by hand where necessary

  • Kitting of materials & components to ensure they are delivered to the right area at the right time in line with the MPS.

  • Input data accurately remotely or directly into SAP to ensure the company’s material handling system remains up to date.

  • Make recommendations to improve and develop the materials operations

  • Maintain accurate records & documentation for storage.

  • Preservation of materials & components under the direct control of the warehouse (internally & externally).

  • Support the maintenance of logistic equipment through preventative measures

  • Support business Continuous Improvement initiative when requested.

  • Comply with all business policies and procedures that may affect Quality, Health, Safety Environment

  • Control of PPE stores in the warehouse

  • Undertake routine cycle counting, stock takes and investigating discrepancies

  • Any other reasonable duties within individuals’ capabilities

Responsibilities:

Material delivery forms a key part of the successful building of transformers on time. The liquidated damages associated with late delivery can run into 100,000’s of pounds hence the importance of ensuring materials are delivered on time without damage, deterioration or loss.

Duties:

  • SAP WM Processes – Goods receipt, material put away, production order staging etc.

  • Internal material movement

  • Maintain storage areas

  • Kitting of Materials ready for Manufacturing

  • Operate FLT’s, Cranes

Skill Set:

  • Extensive SAP knowledge and experience

  • Organisational skills

  • FLT (would be an advantage)

  • Overhead Crane (would be an advantage)
