Ebenezer Universal Worker in St Paul, Minnesota
Overview
We are seeking a Universal Worker who would be responsible for providing a clean, safe and pleasant environment for residents, staff and visitors including cleaning/sanitizing resident rooms and common areas. This position is also responsible for processing all linen and personal clothing and delivering them to the floor, or resident room, including stocking carts, storage rooms and checking inventory. Perfroms other duties as needed to assist clinical, dietary and activity staff.
This position includes;
40 hours in two weeks
Day shift; 7AM-3:30PM
Every other weekend rotation

Ebenezer Integrated Care & Rehab (EICR) serves seniors with long-term, transitional, and dementia care needs in the heart of downtown St. Paul. As part of Fairview's Community Health and Wellness Hub, EICR is committed to delivering innovative, collaborative care. The Fairview Community Health and Wellness Hub opened in 2022 to deliver a variety of services to the community—from primary and mental health care to enrichment options for seniors, food access programs, and community gathering spaces. The Hub brings Fairview services together with local organizations—including Minnesota Community Care and Sanneh Foundation—to make it easier for people to access what they need to be well.
Responsibilities/Job Description
Performs housekeeping duties and cleans public areas, dining areas, resident rooms, and restrooms
Perfroms thorough cleaning of all assigned areas, including vacuums carpets/rugs, sweeps and mops hard floor surfaces, dusts and/or damp wipes surfaces, sanitizes bathrooms, cleans all glass windows/mirrors
Prioritizes tasks and completes within allotted time
Assists in cleaning emergency spills as needed
Foolows cleaning schedule and instructions regarding specifications of resident's individualized hoursekeeping needs
Cleans dining rooms after meal service
Cleans drinking fountains with disinfectant
Replenishes supplies - soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
Empties and washes waste baskets with disinfectant when needed
Maintains cleaning equipment and supplies
Maintains housekeeping cart and storage area on daily basis
Keeps supplies, chemicals, and tools locked at all times
Communicates need for equipment repairs
Processes laundry and monitors laundry equipment
Gathers soiled linen
Fills and empties washer and dryer
Follows washer and dryer instructions
Maintains sorting system
Folds and sorts all clean linen
Delivers linen to resident care areas
Labels items appropriately
Searches for missing laundry items
Delivers items to the appropriate floor
Maintains clean linen carts
Performs job duties safely, using correct body mechanics and personal protective equipment
Safely mixes chemicals according to instructions provided by the manufacturer
Consistently follows staf body mechanics
Demonstrates precautionary work practices for the safety of others in the work areas, such as electic cords, wet floor signs, etc
Provides support services to nursing and activity staff by
Welcomes resident/guests/volunteers and staff
Fills and passes water to residents
Does one-on-one visits with residents, as needed
Assists with resident room order, including cleaning bedside stands and closets
Answers resident call lights
Makes resident bed
Transports residents to and from meal, activities, appointments, etc
Stocks supplies, as needed
Assists with activities and special events set-up and clean-up
Performs other duties as assigned and directed
Answers unit phones when needed
Assists residents with phone calls
Attends in-services
Notifies maintenance staff of room and equipment repair needs
Room changes
Cleaning wheel chairs
Assisting with special events
Qualifications
Required:
- 0-1 years of experience
Preferred:
High School Diploma/GED
1-3 years of experience
