As a Planned Giving Officer, you will be part of a fun, supportive, and inclusive team collaborating with other advancement staff to build relationships, develop and implement fundraising strategies to expand support for Minnesotans supported by LSS. In this role, you will: Manage and expand the organization's planned giving society - the Norelius Society - statewide. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward planned giving prospects. Work closely with Development Leadership, Relationships Managers, the Church Partnerships and Volunteerism Team, the ELCA Foundation, and a Planned Giving consultant to promote the mission and values of LSS to the public, nurture the existing donor base and develop strategies to foster planned gifts. Build and maintain a portfolio of approximately 200-250 planned giving prospects and donors living across the state of Minnesota. Collaborate with the Development Church Partnerships and Volunteerism Team to engage with faith-based donors and prospects. Connect with community members via phone, in-person, virtual visits, congregational visits (some evenings and weekends), mailings, writing cards, and email communication. Work with community members from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and affiliated groups. Work with a team committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. ERG, and API ERG). Job Requirements: 10+ years of Development experience preferred. Experience with complex, multi-year gifts. General understanding of stock, estate, and planned giving processes. Experience in working in a multi-million-dollar campaign. Able to create 12+ month donor strategies. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree/experience preferred. Effective communication, collaboration, social/emotional intelligence, and listening skills. Ability to use outlook, excel, word, and other software systems for donor communication. Strong planning and strategic thinking skills. Interested in building relationships in the community. Ability to assess situations quickly and adjust strategies accordingly. Proven familiarity with local and surrounding community resources. Driver's lice se required. Expectation for travel: statewide travel with some evenings and weekend visits.
