The qualified candidate will join the Analytical R&D organization to enable development of biological therapeutics in Chesterfield, MO. Within Analytical R&D the candidate will join the Project Progression & Biochemistry Group focused on recombinant protein therapeutics, monoclonal antibodies, conjugates, vaccines and other biological modalities. This group develops analytical methodologies and strategies needed to progress biotherapeutic products in the pipeline; this includes method development, process support, formulation and stability support, excipient analysis, product characterization and method qualification.
Perform various experiments for analytical method development/qualification/validation and characterization for biotherapeutics and vaccines under moderate supervision using core technologies such as HPLC and CE.
Perform all experiments under applicable safety and regulatory compliances.
The candidate is responsible for generating high quality data in support of other business lines in Analytical R&D (ARD) using core analytical methodologies (such as HPLC and CE) for biological molecules, reviewing others experiments and data, and documenting data/results according to applicable compliances including authoring documentation.
Generate high quality results in support of various business unit projects in a timely manner.
Present/communicate data/results within group as well as to other groups within Pfizer.
Document data/results according to applicable compliances, such as GLP and GMP.
Review colleagues experiments and results as needed.
Accountable for completing the assigned tasks and communicate aberrant results in a timely manner.
Complete required reports/documentation in support of regulatory filings.
BS in Chemistry or Biochemistry or related fields with 5-10 years of experience or MS in Chemistry of Biochemistry or related fields with 2-5 years of experience.
Prior experience with HPLC analysis with a preference for experience with biological molecules required.
Prior experience with analysis for proteins required.
Familiarization with various general laboratory techniques in chemistry/biochemistry required.
Other experience requirements: capillary electrophoresis, UV-vis spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.
Effective oral and written communication skills as well as ability in working in a team-based, fast-past environment is also required.
Prior experience with excipient analysis desired.
Prior experience with CAD and RI detectors for HPLC analysis desired.
