Berkshire Bank Maintenance Technician in Springfield, Massachusetts

Position : Maintenance Technician

Status: Non-Exempt

Grade: 6

Pay range: $19.00 - $27.00

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

Location: Springfield, MA - 19 Harrison Ave

Purpose/Objective :

Performs general and preventative maintenance for all Bank buildings.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Performs general maintenance and repairs including, assists with outsourcing engineering, minor plumbing, carpentry, painting and repairs/renovations, adjustments to HVAC systems, data center, generator, and assembling equipment. Performs other maintenance duties including replacing light bulbs, snow removal, plowing, shoveling of sidewalks landscaping, fall and spring cleanup, weeding, mulching, lawn mowing, window washing, sidewalk sweeping, cleaning vents, power washing and additional duties as assigned. 85%

  • Assists in daily opening procedures, removes rubbish for pick-up, checks window and door locks at closing to ensure building security, and moving departments as needed. Operates Bank vehicles to transport supplies, oversees vehicle upkeep and routine maintenance. 15%

  • Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Experience in skilled trades helpful, not required.

  • Knowledge of commonly used hand and power tools

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Physical strength and dexterity for moving of heavy equipment and supplies.

  • Must have valid driver’s license and be capable of driving bank owned vehicles.

  • Computer skills including Excel, Word

  • Flexibility in duties as assigned.
