Staff Test Engineer

Job Description

Software & Digitalization organization is seeking a motivated and experienced Test Automation & Validation Engineers to take our solutions to the next level. This person will play a key role in developing and performing software testing for our cloud platform. In this role, you will design test cases and protocols to verify software functionality using numerous testing methods including functional, integration and system testing. Within SW&D org, we have the power and capability to make these a reality in the best interest of our customers. We are all about improving the customer experience, which in many cases starts with software Quality Assurance. Having a good software out-of-the-box experience is monumental to the overall SW&D org philosophy.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and execute automation and manual test plans for verification.

  • Proficiency with DevOps tools and practices and consistent track record to align quality engineering strategy with automation efforts.

  • Work with software, and system engineers as part of a focused cross-functional team developing and testing software for embedded applications.

  • Analyze architecture and designs to identify test automation strategies to provide full test coverage for new and/or existing features. Identify and articulate gaps in architecture or design

  • Focuses on 100 percent automation strategy, where all tests are automated with stability prior to running them.

Qualifications

  • B.S. required (M.S. preferred) in electronics/computer engineering or computer science disciplines

  • 12+ years in software test automation experience is preferred.

  • Experience in web development technologies using HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React

  • Demonstrated experience in system level Integration, validation, automation framework, and debugging of system software.

  • Experience of creating validation test plans, developing test content to achieve the validation plan, and automating the execution of test contents.

  • Experience in agile CI/CD workflows (project maintenance in JIRA and Github using Jenkins/GitLab workflows or similar technologies)

  • Hands on experience in integration testing frameworks such as Playwright and Crpress, GitOps CD tool for Kubernetes such as Argo CD and Test Case Management tool such as Zephyr.

  • Proficient in Python for scripting and automation

  • Strong understanding of software test methodology. Ability to design highly effective test strategies and decompose functional requestions into test cases.

  • Experience of testing on multiple HW TEST environments (Boards, Emulation, Simulation etc.)

  • Good knowledge of hardware debuggers like JTAG, Oscilloscope, J-Link, and Logic Analyzer etc.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to clearly articulate complex software topics and influence decisions based on sound engineering fundamentals

  • Well organized with attention to detail, accuracy, and target audience

  • Master in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel).
