About the role

The Senior Manager Operations Cell Culture will be leading the shift organization of the Preculture, Fermentation and Bioreactor Assembly department, where we produce intermediate product for the great products that we make. The group consists of approximately 150 employees working in shift. The role of Sr. Manager Operations Cell Culture will be performed in office hours. The activities are very dynamic and varied. The preferred candidate likes challenges, doesn’t avoid problems, makes decisions and enjoys working in teams.

The responsibilities & the impact YOU will have:

  • Lead and develop a team of dedicated manufacturing supervisors and operators, providing guidance, coaching, and support. As a people manager, you are accountable for the HR budget, selecting new employees for my shift, setting objectives aligned with the business goals, and conducting the 5 conversations cycle.

  • The Senior Operations manager maintains engagement, high morale, motivation and efficiency within their shift by adhering to the J&J leadership imperatives. Creates a positive environment for people development. Enables a good pipeline of succession for key positions in JBV.

  • Is accountable for the effective performance of the shift against production planning/ important metrics during their shift. Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

  • Institute continuous improvement projects and lead year on year efficiency improvement to manage growth and expansions (Lean)

  • Oversee day-to-day operational activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks

  • Accountable to set priorities in case of conflicting situations within operating shift teams. Constantly reviewing, evaluating and improving the efficiency of the shift teams. Directly organizing the resource allocation within the shift period to ensure best utilization of staff, materials and production areas.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and dedication within the Operations department

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred)

  • Minimum 8-10 years of practical industrial experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity

  • Strong knowledge of operational standard processes and industry trends

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and inspiring change in a complex operational environment

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
