Delaware Valley Floral Group is seeking a Delivery Driver to join our Shrewsbury, MA Distribution Team.

This is afull-timeroute driver position operating a refrigerated box truck delivering wholesale floral products to retail flower shops throughout Boston, 495 North and South, Route 128 North and South, and/or Rhode Island areas. The work schedule is five days per week working Monday through Friday. The start time on Mondays is2AMwhile Tuesday-Friday would be3:30AMstart time working until finish. This position also requires a few Saturdays per year with extra days and hours as required.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a warehouse and cooler environment (34 degrees). The employee will utilize equipment such as Pallet Jacks, box cutters, and operating a 16ft Refrigerated Box truck.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and read. This position is very active and requires standing (and sitting) for periods of time, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and operating equipment. The employee must be able to lift and or move items up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience driving commercial vehicles of various sizes (Example: 16ft Box Trucks).

  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical Certification and have a valid Class D Drivers License (no CDL required)Employee must maintain an acceptable driving record, which is checked two times per year.

  • Must be 21 years of age.

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds

  • Professional and pleasant disposition, able to give all clients a positive customer service experience.

  • Ability to read maps or utilize GPS to determine daily route.

  • Previous use of Route Optimization Software a plus, but not required.

  • Excellent time management and organization skills.

  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to multi-task.

  • Must be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings.
