The role you’ll contribute:

The Health Coach and Educator’s primary responsibility is providing wellness coaching and education to reduce or eliminate high-risk behaviors in individuals with health concerns. This is done through teaching and delivering education and information using the CREATION Life framework and Lifestyle Medicine principles in order to advance the culture of health. The Educator is responsible for teaching and implementing programs supporting mind, body, and spiritual health. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. This role works in conjunction with the AdventHealth Nutritional Wellbeing Center.

  • Working knowledge of health, nutrition, fitness, personal development and how to facilitate habit change.

  • Knowledge of health-related diseases and illnesses, and the typical medical treatments used to address them.

  • Solid understanding of CREATION Life principles

  • Solid understanding of Lifestyle Medicine principles

  • Executive level presentation/facilitation skills

  • Ability to deliver presentations to small and large groups

  • Proficient in the use of the following Microsoft software programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • High School graduate.

  • Documented experience teaching wellness-related information in a variety of settings:lay health, community health worker, peer counselor, health navigator or health coach or other personnel with some level of preparation in a recognized healthcare field.

  • Certification by American Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ACDES) as a Diabetes Care Community Coordinator (DCCC) to be successfully obtained within 30 days of hire.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :

  • Current CPR certification

  • Based on American Diabetic Association Level 2 designation, one of the following certifications must be met:Certified Nursing Assistant, paramedic, LPN, Certified Community Health Worker, Medical Assistant, Certified Dietetic Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Physical Therapy Assistant, Dental Hygienist, or Emergency Medical Technician
