ZILLOW INC Senior Software Development Engineer in Seattle, Washington

Zillow, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for its Seattle, Washington office.

Job Duties: Build and maintain highly-scalable ETL pipelines and data-driven systems; Work closely with business stake holders, data analysts and machine learning engineers to productionalize analytic solutions; Design and implement new data pipelines to support business analysts and data scientists; Design and build infrastructure to support our petabyte scale data lake; Develop software utilizing search engine and information retrieval technologies: Manipulate large datasets and data retrieval utilizing search relevance and ranking algorithms; Build scalable and performant APIs to make the data available to downstream consumers; Work with different AWS technologies and making decisions based on performance and cost analysis; Code software on a large, collaborative software stack; and Technical troubleshooting, performance tuning. Telecommuting permitted.

Requirement: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Three years of experience in: Designing Relational, NoSQL and distributed storage solutions; Designing and developing backend software systems; Designing and building lean, efficient and highly scalable Representational state transfer (REST) APIs, RESTful web-services and microservices architecture; and Cloud computing platforms.

Alternative requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in: Designing Relational, NoSQL and distributed storage solutions; Designing and developing backend software systems; Designing and building lean, efficient and highly scalable Representational state transfer (REST) APIs, RESTful web-services and microservices architecture; and Cloud computing platforms.
