Mood Media Design Engineer in Seattle, Washington

General Summary: The Design Engineer, Advanced Solutions Group will provide sales, consultation, concept and/or technical audio/video system design & engineering support to the account management and sales teams including, but not limited to, creative concept and engineering direction, full and complete solution design, the creation of quotes and proposals including cost estimates, proposed hardware, device placement drawings, full operational drawings, and detailed scope of work narratives. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Adopts a client-centric, proactive, and strategic approach to all activities and decision making. Provides technical and solution consultation, expertise and support to account management and sales teams. Assists in needs analysis discoveries (design intent specifically focused on experience, coverage, functionality, and performance) with clients to determine "pain" and present solutions that solve that "pain". Prepares proposal & solution design packages & participates in final sales presentations. Contributes to thought leadership and pro-active preparation and presentation of solution packages for account management and acquisitions teams to achieve revenue growth. Assist in the preparation of all pricing, including labor analysis, equipment pricing, general conditions, direct job expenses, and any cost elements required to complete the formal proposal. Interfaces with Owners, Architect/Engineers, and any other contractors or subcontractors to provide clarity of scope, design assistance, and trade coordination. Upon contract award, attend kick-off meeting with Operations project team. Provide detailed technical and financial information to the project team to ensure that they have a detailed understanding of the project contract, scope, technical requirements, budget, and schedule in order to successfully deliver the project. Establishes, develops, and nurtures relationships with clients, vendors, reps, and manufacturers at the highest levels, increasing Mood:Media global leadership advantage. Required Travel: 0-25% Essential Job Qualifications: Assoc. degree from 2 year college or technical school or equivalent as described below Equivalent - 5 or more years of experience in AV Engineering and Systems Design, creative design, multiple and varied technologies, decision maker interaction, sales and operations processes. Preferred: formal education in Electrical Engineering, Audio Video Engineering, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, or related fields. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Direct field experience designing, engineering, and managing the installation of complex audio, video, projection, and control systems - including related software and content-based solution elements. * Formal education or background in Electrical Engineering, Audio Video Engineering, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, or related field. * Solid writing skills including technical writing, salesmanship for project specific scope or qualifications, letter writing, and generation of detailed clarifications and exclusions to define scope boundaries. Must have the ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision. Mastery of the English language. * Proficient in business applications, especially Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and excellent in math and budgeting.
