Description

We are on the hunt for a meticulous Controller based in Seattle, Washington. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing the finances for a private family and their philanthropy, including payroll, accounts payable, cash management, and budget planning.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the execution of payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing and reconciling payroll activity.

• Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice receipt, approval routing, and payment disbursement.

• Regularly assess cash requirements and request funding as necessary.

• Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.

• Prepare and review intercompany journal entries and reconciliations.

• File personal property tax, B& O tax, and other regulatory returns as required.

• Reconcile accounts related to employee benefits such as the 401k plan and group medical premiums.

• Prepare budget variance reports and work with stakeholders to identify reasons for variances.

• Oversee monthly closing activities to deliver accurate and timely financial statements.

• Maintain financial records in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.

• Provide financial information to external tax advisors to assist with federal and state income tax deposits and filings.

• Lead the annual budget process including the establishment of the budget calendar, creation of templates for department budget submissions, and loading the approved budget into the accounting system.

• Implement improvements to internal controls over financial and recordkeeping processes.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000

Benefits:

Requirements • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and manage a team.

• Proficient in reconciling payroll and managing payroll operations.

• Experience in preparing journal entries and maintaining financial records.

• Knowledge in conducting year-end closings and preparing financial reports.

• Expertise in managing accounts payable (AP) and ensuring timely payments.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing accounts and financial transactions.

• Experience in maintaining vendor files and ensuring accurate record keeping.

• Familiarity with Form 1099 and its implications on business operations.

• Proven ability in performing reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.

• Experience in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with taxation laws.

• Ability to analyze variance and provide insightful financial reports.

• Experience in preparing annual budgets and managing financial resources.

• Proficiency in forecasting financial trends and making informed business decisions.
