Director of Fleet Maintenace - Airport Operations

$100,000 - $115,000 - Yearly

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Regional Director of Fleet Maintenance to lead our maintenance operations at customer locations across a designated region. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and servicing of our customer's equipment, ensuring top-notch performance, safety, and reliability. This role requires strong leadership skills and prior experience leading large multishift, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of fleet maintenance.

Job Summary:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the fleet maintenance teams across the region, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

  • Develop and implement customized maintenance programs tailored to customer's equipment, usage patterns, and operational needs.

  • Collaborate closely with customer representatives to establish maintenance schedules, performance metrics, and communication channels that foster a strong partnership.

  • Analyze equipment maintenance data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced reliability.

  • Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance staff, cultivate a culture of customer-focused service excellence, technical proficiency, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead regular meetings with customer contacts to review maintenance performance, discuss challenges, and explore solutions to enhance reliability and availability.

  • Maintain vendor relationships, and oversee the procurement of parts, tools, and services required for maintenance activities.

  • Uphold strong safety culture, ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations.

  • Lead or assist in incident investigations related to fleet maintenance and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field, automotive technology, Business Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in fleet maintenance management, with a demonstrated history of increasing responsibilities and successful leadership.

  • Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance practices, regulations, and industry trends.

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams to achieve high levels of performance.

  • Possession of relevant certifications such as Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) is a plus.

  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the designated region as needed.
