Ellis Medicine Community Engagement & Special Events Manager in Schenectady, New York

The Manager of Foundation Events, Communications and Marketing provides leadership to the Foundation’s fundraising events and communications/marketing efforts, and works closely with the Foundation team, including consultants, to develop and execute creative donor-centric events and communications strategies to support fundraising objectives.

The ideal candidate is a creative and forward-thinking professional who is organized, detail-oriented, and has a passion for delivering events and developing and executing integrated communications and marketing strategies.

  • Successful. Proven record of developing and/or executing successful communications and marketing strategies.

  • Customer service oriented. Act as a Foundation liaison across different teams and stakeholders. A commitment to customer service and the ability to deal effectively with internal and external constituencies.

  • Multi-tasker. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Self-driven. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 15 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

    Responsibilities of the Position:

    Special Events

  • Manages fundraising events (Gala, Golf, 5K, etc.) and vendors including negotiations and contracting for venues and services, within budget and on time.

  • Markets events to community via invitations, social media, print media, etc.

  • Oversees attendee experience including video production, auction set up and attendee registration.

  • Builds logistics plans to ensure successful attendee experience.

  • Works with graphic designer to develop event collateral.

  • Promotes event through various marketing channels.

    Communications/Marketing

  • Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy to support fundraising activities.

  • Work closely with the Foundation team to ensure effective messaging and execution of communications/marketing strategies.

  • Monitor trends and to inform communications strategies, analyze data to measure the effectiveness of communications initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ensure all communications initiatives meet the organization's standards and objectives.

  • Provides support to the Vice President/Executive Director and Foundation team as needed.

  • Prioritize workload and performs tasks accurately and efficiently.

  • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures related to Mandatory Education and Annual Health Assessment.

  • Adhere to the Making Ellis Exceptional (MEE) Behaviors & Standards and AIDET (Acknowledge, Identify, Duration, Expectation, Thank You) and initiate, promote, and support change initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Salary Range: $29.44-$44.16/hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
