Role Summary:

Perform the necessary tests to ensure the correct operation of the equipment assembled in the IPO/EPO area, diagnose failures and establish assertive communication with the various areas involved to provide feedback on improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver on time requested test procedures required by customers to the laboratory supervisor, standard and engineering equipment.

  • Keep the laboratory areas (warehouses, pit, offices, equipment and instruments) clean and tidy.

  • In coordination with the laboratory management, elaborate test program to be carried out, looking for the optimization of engine assemblies and arrangements.

  • Elaborate adjustment instructions to pumps (P-594) and/or release. Registering this in the network and informing all personnel involved in a maximum of one hour after the end of the test.

  • Provide support to production areas regarding instructions issued and review compliance.

  • Review hydraulic inspection reports issued by QA personnel.

  • Deliver on time the test reports made by the same.

  • Prepare daily test reports.

  • Maintain safe laboratory operation by detecting and ensuring unsafe conditions and acts are eliminated. Comply with safety audits.

  • Maintain the instrumental equipment in the laboratory in optimal condition.

  • Test 100% of the pumps programmed by production.

  • Attend and accredit internal corporate and external audits.

  • Participate in MRBs related to hydraulic testing.

  • Review of pump selection, operating conditions, to ensure that during the test the equipment complies with the hydraulic and mechanical behavior according to the applicable standards.

  • Load in master program one month in advance: bench, engine to be used, as well as indicate piping, arrangements and booster pump to be used for the tests to be performed.

  • To carry out tests of: Performance, NPSH, mechanical, motor run test, impact test, special test

Requirements:

  • Mechanical, industrial, mechatronics or similar engineering, with solid knowledge in hydraulics.

  • Intermediate - Advanced English. Able to hold technical discussions with customers.

  • Knowledge of ASME/ANSI, AWWA, etc. piping standards.

  • Interpretation of hydraulic performance curves.

  • Equipment assembly.

  • Interpretation of vibration results, provide recommendations and solutions to common vibration problems in test laboratory.

  • Solid knowledge of API, HIS and ISO standards.

  • Knowledge of Mechanical Seals

  • Experience in rotating equipment manufacturing companies

  • Knowledge of equipment testing, electrical, instrumentation,

  • Interpretation of operating curves

  • Knowledge of test laboratory assembly activities.

  • Engineering, mechanics, basic fluid hydraulics.

  • Knowledge of engine starting, test laboratory measuring instruments (pressure gauges, torque gauges, power, pressure, etc.).

  • Knowledge of instrumentation.

  • Medium to advanced use of excel

  • Basic hydraulic modifications (affinity laws).

  • Knowledge of geometric and dimensional tolerances.

  • Knowledge of measuring instruments.

  • Interpretation of P&ID drawings, general arrangement, machining of components.

  • Autocad 2D

  • Basic knowledge of electricity: transformers, motors, starters.

  • Knowledge of industrial safety
