Job Description

Join Intel’s TSP group as a Cloud Software Infrastructure Architect! We are seeking an experienced Software Infrastructure and DevSecOps Architect who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for building and maintaining highly available and resilient infrastructure for our security platform, for both cloud and on-premise environments, using automate everything and infrastructure as code principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Create architecture blueprints for software infrastructure required to satisfy current and future product requirements.

  • Ensure the efficient planning, provisioning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and/or operations of the software infrastructure required to build, validate, and release software products.

  • Work closely with application development, quality, security and performance engineering teams to derive infrastructure design requirements.

  • Own the end-to-end software delivery pipeline, including source code management, versioning/tagging strategy, component build and packaging, automation tooling, release staging, acceptance and/or indicators, required security and IP scans, any third-party conformance tools, artifact storage and distribution, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions for increased automation, reliability, and/or velocity within the software delivery pipeline through implementation of robust infrastructure telemetry, KPIs, and indicators, and by monitoring and applying industry best practices.

  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies, industry trends and best practices for infrastructure automation

  • Continuously improve tools, processes, and procedures

  • Build, maintain, and scale product infrastructure

  • Design automation frameworks, tools, and systems for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), ensuring fast-paced software delivery into multiple environments

  • Monitor and review resource utilization trends for cost optimization

  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to resolve infrastructure issues

  • Bring innovative ideas and solve complex technology problems

  • Perform design and code reviews

  • Facilitate buy vs build decisions

  • Lead and mentor junior engineers

  • Track and improve key performance and productivity indicators

  • Exhibit behavioral traits that indicate excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline with 6+ years of experience in:

  • Architecture, design, development, deployment and support of distributed systems and Cloud/SaaS platforms.

  • Writing infrastructure code in Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) using Terraform or other IaC frameworks.

  • Coding in one or more programming languages e.g. Python, Golang, Java etc.

  • Container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Azure AKS etc.

  • Infrastructure automation using Helm, Ansible, bash, Powershell etc.

  • Building and Maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub actions and/or Jenkins.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud certifications in administration, operations, networking etc.

  • CNCF certifications such as certified Kubernetes administrator.

  • Gitops.

  • Istio, Kyverno, Kafka, API gateways.

  • Observability using ElasticSearch, Prometheus, AWS/Azure/GCP tools and/or 3rd party tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk etc.

  • Multi-tenancy, High-availability, Scalability, Resiliency.

  • Platform engineering, Internal developer portal, Developer self-service.

  • Security concepts like cryptography, data encryption, key/certificate management, identity, and access management.

  • AIOps, MLOps.

  • CNCF projects.

  • Feature flags.

  • Canary and blue/green deployments.

  • Chaos Engineering.

  • Cloud cost monitoring and optimization.

  • Security testing using SAST/DAST tools.

  • Security, network, and performance monitoring.

  • Software supply chain assurance and SBOM.

  • Site reliability engineering.

  • Supporting production cloud environments.

  • Agile and scrum methodologies.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $144,501.00-$217,311.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
