Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Chief of Staff to support the Vice President of Global Communications at Autodesk and the Autodesk Global Communications team. This role is crucial in driving the success of the Communications team by providing operational, strategic, and administrative support. You will act as an important partner and trusted advisor, working with the Communications team to build our communication goals and projects.

You will report directly to the Vice President of Global Communications. This is a remote position for candidates based in the United States, but you must be comfortable working Pacific Time Zone hours.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with the Vice President, Global Communications, to develop and implement strategic communication plans aligned with Autodesk's business objectives

  • Assist in setting priorities and defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts

Project Management

  • Lead and manage cross-functional communication projects from conception to completion

  • Coordinate with internal teams, including marketing, public relations, and product management, to ensure timely and successful execution of communication initiatives

Team Support

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Communications team including managing budgets and vendor invoicing

  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for internal and external meetings

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, cross-functional team members and other external Communications leaders

  • Serve as a liaison between the Vice President, Global Communications, and various stakeholders to facilitate communication and collaboration

Operational Excellence

  • Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness within the Global Communications team

  • Streamline processes, implement best practices, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Team Leadership

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the Global Communications team

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to help them achieve their professional goals and objectives

  • Help with team culture and morale-focused initiatives in partnership with our people team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business administration, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role

  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable strategies

  • Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully leading and executing projects

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences

  • Ability to handle business sensitive information

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and guide stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Experience managing and developing a high-performing team

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $138,200 and $223,630. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
