Bio-Techne Strategic Business Leader (Director) in San Diego, California

Salary Range: $196,000 - 260,000 base salary depending on experience and qualifications, plus target annual bonus, long-term incentive plan, and benefits

Position Summary:

Strategic Business Leader (Director) will be responsible for the site’s strategic planning, business development, safety, and quality through efficient inter-departmental communications with the following groups Materials, Facilities, Manufacturing, Marketing, Operations, Quality/Regulatory, and Sales.

Strategic Planning/Management:

  • Obtain site revenue and profit targets by managing staff, and establishing, and accomplishing business objectives.

  • Build an effective team, drive site employee development, and promote effective inter-departmental communication.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of annual site performance targets and business strategies.

  • Evaluate the site’s performance against its strategic and operational plans.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through the deployment of lean tools and processes.

  • Leads all-hands meetings with employees to communicate business performance, corporate policies, and updates.

  • Motivate and coach employees by assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities.

  • Delegate tasks and manage progress to ensure successful completion of site objectives.

  • Provide leadership for developing employee relations through positive and proactive communication and create and reinforce a culture of teamwork.

  • Compile data for Quarterly Business Reviews

  • Establish and adhere to high ethical and performance standards.

  • Liaise between customers, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure product inventory with projected costs.

  • Serve as a role model in professional behavior.

  • Develop, foster, and implement company policies, plans, and continuous improvement efforts for assigned groups.

  • Oversee and adhere to expense and capital budgets for assigned groups. Work to lower expenses by implementing cost-saving ideas.

Quality/Safety:

  • Ensures that the processes needed for the Quality System are documented. Reports on the effectiveness of the System and any needs to improve it. Promotes awareness of applicable regulatory requirements and quality system management requirements.

  • Ensures compliance with all facility and product regulatory requirements.

  • Oversees the development of procedures and systems for producing products that meet applicable quality standards.

  • Ensure a safe work environment via internal safety program maintenance and enforcement/review of all Safety Policies.

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in business administration or relevant field, preferred. MSc/MA a plus.

  • 5+ years of director level operations management

  • 7+ years of people management experience.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

  • Outstanding communication and people skills.

  • Knowledge and experience working with ISO & FDA regulations.

  • In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, customer service, sales, production, etc.).

  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
