BAE Systems Communication Systems Electronic Technician I / II in San Diego, California

Job Description

The selected applicant(s) will provide technical support of communications-electronics equipment, systems, subsystems, and ancillaries in fixed/mobile communications platforms for the Department of Defense (DoD), US Special Operations Forces (SOF), and other government agencies. This position requires a minimum of 50% travel, both CONUS and OCONUS, including deployment rotations to locations designated as Hazardous Duty by the U.S. Department of State. The successful candidate must be willing to travel to Hazardous Duty areas and meet/maintain training and Fit for Duty requirements (specific health and physical requirements) as specified by the contract(s) and applicable U.S. Government directives (i.e. CENTCOM Mod 13).

The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $31.21 (Technician I) / $33.11 (Technician II). Job leveling will be determined at the time of interview.

This position is located in San Diego, CA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position; applicants must be currently residing in, or be willing to relocate to the San Diego, CA area.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

High School diploma and 2-8 years of related experience

Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations

Ability to meet and maintain the certifications/qualifications for deployment travel to Hazardous Duty locations

US military electronics training/experience

Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Outlook, Excel)

C-E test equipment experience

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience with US Special Operations Forces

Tactical or Shipboard radio (SATCOM, LOS, and HF) operations/maintenance experience

COMSEC equipment operations/maintenance experience

Component level repair and soldering experience

Military Leadership Training

Valid US tourist passport

VOIP and IP networking experience

A certification

ECMS Experience

Pay Information

This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
