BAE Systems IFF Engineering Technician IV (Navy Combat Systems) in Saint Inigoes, Maryland

Job Description

The selected candidate will support and maintain the In Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) laboratories. Will generate and update laboratory drawings as required to reflect configuration, equipment or location changes and will maintain all equipment associated with the laboratories including equipment installed on antenna towers. Will maintain laboratory logbooks to document equipment maintenance, configuration changes and tests being conducted in the laboratories. Maintains a laboratory Schedule for live IFF testing, software testing, developmental testing and equipment grooms and monitors /audits the inventory of COMSEC assets within the laboratory. Will monitor message traffic to track Casualty Reports (CASREP) applicable to IFF equipment and will enter CASREP data in the appropriate database and notify the Government Project Lead if ISEA action is required.

Will provide technical services in support of the AN/UPX-29(V) Interrogator System during grooms, Combat System Ship Qualification Trials (CSSQT), and Material Condition Assessments (MCA) and will interface directly with ships force department heads to provide high-level status updates and recommend corrective action. The candidate will serve as a technical liaison and provide technical support to the United States Navy for the AN/UPX-29(V).

Will exert frequent energy, such as climbing to go aloft for antenna maintenance and lifting/carrying heavy objects. May be required to work overtime hours or weekends to support installations and test events. Will occasionally be required to work in disagreeable environmental conditions. Assigned work will include assisting other technicians and working on projects involving Combat Identification equipment including Mark XII and Mark XIIA systems. Will work closely with BAE Systems personnel, subcontractors, and onsite Government customers.

The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $35.64/hr.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Some relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidate. Applicants must be currently residing in or willing to relocate to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

High school diploma and a minimum of 6 years of experience working with United States Navy Combat Systems

NEC 1571(V06B) or equivalent AN/UPX-29(V)

NEC 1572(V07B) or equivalent AIMS system Technician

Ability to climb aloft for antenna maintenance and lift/carry heavy objects

Ability to pass BAE Systems solder and cable fabrication training

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Maritime Training (OSHA 1915)

Certified solder technician specializing in SMT, lead free and through hole

Certified Quality Assurance Inspector

Cable fabrication certification

Pay Information

This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
