The Goddard School, a non-denominational early childhood education center, is currently seeking a reliable, experienced, and energetic Assistant Teacher/Floater for our Round Lake, IL location. Prospects will be selected based on their ability to engage children up to 12 years of age in a safe, nurturing and loving manner. Both part time and full time applicants will be considered. Job Responsibilities • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment • Implement weekly lesson plans based on Goddard’s Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes • Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence while supporting each child’s social and emotional development, and individual needs • Establish positive and effective family relations through interactive parent communication • Appropriate and professional communication with fellow staff and management, cultivating a healthy and functional working environment that fosters teamwork • Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions • Ensure compliance with Goddard’s Industry leading Quality Assurance standards Job Requirements All candidates, who wish to be considered must meet the following criteria: • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Psychology or related field OR proof of current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Associate's or CDA Credentialing Program • Prior classroom experience at a childcare center or preschool • Strong work ethic and communication skills • Positive attitude and inherent love for young children • Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
